The Philippines announced Thursday that it has decided to send 336 troops to join the United Nations Disengagement Observe Force (UNDOF) operating in the occupied Syrian Golan.
According to the Chinese Xinhua news agency, the Commanding General of the Philippine army gen. Noel Coballes said the troops will be transferred in three batches by the 7th of next month.
The Philippine government earlier mentioned that it has decided to continue sending troops to the region after UN offered assurances to secure the safety of forces in the Syrian Golan.
A number of Philippine troops were kidnapped by armed terrorist groups in Syria earlier this year.
