Iran\'s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Special representative of the Russian President, Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov stressed that conducting presidential elections in Syria is an internal issue, stressing the Syrians\' right of determining their own future.
During his meeting with Bogdanov who is on a visit to Tehran, the Iranian official said that a good chance in Syria is available for a political solution, adding that the parties that are supporting the diplomatic means could play an important role in solving the crisis through supporting the political operation.
"The three issues represented by supporting the Syrian people, combating terrorism and seeking a political solution to the crisis in this country are a priority of Iran and Russia," Abdollahian pointed out.
He condemned some countries\' behavior of sending weapons to Syria whereas most world states talk about a settlement to the crisis through a political dialogue, stressing that such policies lead to increasing violence, extremism, terrorism and the destruction of the economic infrastructure of Syria.
For his part, Bogdanov welcomed the continuation of negotiations and viewpoint exchange between the two countries regarding issues of western Asia, underlining the importance of finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria and restoring stability and security to it.
