Members of the Syrian community in Russia on Saturday reiterated their stand by the homeland in the face of the terrorist war launched against it, hailing the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army personnel who sacrifice their souls to defend Syria’s freedom and independence.
Celebrating the 69th anniversary of the Independence Day, members of the community stressed that in the past the Syrian people sacrificed in a major national battle against foreign occupation, and today they are fighting against terrorism and Takfiri mentality in another major national battle to preserve Syria’s unity
and territorial integrity.
Participants in the celebration shed light on the criminal acts of terrorist organizations in Syria such as the destruction in the national economic sector.
The Syrian people who were able to defeat the occupiers and to gain the independence in the past, are able today to preserve Syria’s independence and to win the war against terrorism, Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Riyad Hadad said.
He added that Syrian people, army and leadership have been able to remain resilient in the face of the global war launched against the homeland since four years ago as their steadfastness today is a
stronger and brighter reflection of Syria’s battle of independence in the past.
For his part, Head of the Syrian Community Association in Russia, Wael Jnaid stressed that Syria has always been targeted because it has been the cradle of successive civilizations and of the heavenly messages and a trade hub as it has provided great sacrifices to remain a steadfast fort in the face of the greedy.
Member of Russia’s Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society and Head of the Russian Society for Supporting the Syrian People, Oleg Fomin
highlighted the Russian-Syrian deep-rooted friendly relations and the bilateral cooperation in the economic, educational and military domains, particularly during October Liberation War and in building the Euphrates Dam which is one of the icons reflecting the friendly ties between the two countries.
Glory to the Syrian martyrs…Glory to those who defended the Syrian Arab republic…Long live the Russian-Syrian friendship, Fomin said.
During the ceremony, several national musical pieces and songs were performed by Mosaic Band which embraces Syrian students studying in Moscow.
