Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security at the Islamic Shura Council in Iran Alaeddin Boroujerdi affirmed his country’s support to the quartet cooperation among Syria, Iraq, Russia and Iran, considering it as “a successful and positive step.”
“We feel the positive impacts for this cooperation in combating terrorism in the region,” Boroujerdi said on Tuesday in a statement upon his arrival at Damascus on a visit to the country, adding “Those who claim fighting terrorism should have a positive attitude regarding this cooperation.”
He said he will hold talks with Syrian senior officials on bilateral cooperation, terrorism and resistance against the Zionist entity.
On the US stance towards terrorism, the Iranian senior official said ” the policy adopted by the US against terrorism should be positive, and the negative stance in this domain is a kind of cooperation with terrorism.
Boroujerdi’s visit to Damascus lasts for several days.
