Abbas: Expats have key role in exposing and confronting terrorist war waged on Syria
Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas on Saturday stressed the important role of Syrian expat community in confronting the terrorist war waged on their country.

Meeting the Syrian expat community at the Syrian Embassy headquarters in Moscow, Abbas said that the expatriates have also to assume the responsibility for defending the homeland’s independence, sovereignty and future, adding that they should feel proud of their country which led the war against international terrorism.

She noted that the US policy has always been aggressive, adding that the US aggression against Syria came in the aftermath of Syrian army’s achievements and victories in the countryside of Hama province and the outskirts of Damascus city.

Abbas stated that the situation is good despite all complications thanks to the support of Russia, Iran and other allies as well as the steadfastness of the Syrian people and leadership, indicating to the victories made on the ground, the progress achieved in the political track in Astana and Geneva, in addition to the local reconciliations across Syrian areas.

She stressed the need to enhance expatriates’ contribution to the rebuilding of their country and lifting the unjust unilateral sanctions imposed by western states on Syria.
