Russian Defense Ministry: Situation in de-escalation zones stable, 9 violations registered
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that the situation in the de-escalation zones in Syria is assessed as stable, despite registering 24 violations during the past 24 hours.

In a statement published on its website, the Ministry said that control groups monitoring the ceasefire observation within the implementation of the memorandum on creation of the de-escalation zones have registered within last 24 hours 9 violations; 2 in Damascus, 2 in Daraa, 2 in Hama, and 3 in Homs.

The Ministry said that most of these violations were cases of unselective firing from small arms registered in the areas where ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups are active.

The statement also said that the total numbers of areas that joined the reconciliation process is now at 1,497 after 2 villages in the province of Sweida signed ceasefire agreements, adding that work is underway to have more areas join the process in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama, and Quneitra.

The Ministry went on to say that the Russian coordination center in Hmeimim has held 5 humanitarian actions during the past 24 hours, providing humanitarian aid to 1,921 people including 4.8 tons of drinking water in Aleppo and 1.3 tons of food products in Sweida.
