11 villages in Lattakia countryside cleared of landmines, booby traps and bombings
Engineering units of the Syrian Arab army have completed the removal of landmines and bombs planted by terrorist organizations in 11 towns and villages in Rabi’a area in the northern countryside of Lattakia province, paving the way for the return of families there.

An army commander told SANA reporter that the engineering units are continuing to dismantle landmines and explosive devices, planted by terrorists inside the houses and agricultural lands, before they were expelled and defeated by the army.

The commander stressed that all landmines, explosive devices and unexploded bombs were removed to restore security and stability to the area and enable residents to return home, villages and lands.

He added that a number of missiles, explosive devices, gas cylinders, anti-personnel landmines and tanks were found during the clearance process.
