Update-Mediatex Expo for advertising and media starts activities
Meidatex 2017 Exhibition for advertising and media and their requirements started activities on Tuesday at Damascus-based al-Jalaa Sport Hall with the participation of 70 media and advertising bodies.

The expo aims at linking the printed, visual and audio media with the advertising market, in addition to keeping up with the latest developments in the domains of media and advertisement.

The exhibition is organized by the Arab Advertising Establishment and Masarat Company for Expos& Conferences, and it will last till December 14th.

In a press statement, Information Minister Mohammad Ramez Tourjman said that media and advertising support each other and form a link between economic and productive sectors and various activities.

He said that the Exhibition affirms Syria’s ability to survive, advance, and build after seven years of war, adding that the Exhibition will be held on regular basis.

He also asserted that the Ministry is open to licensing radio and television stations and newspapers to keep up with the reconstruction process, referring to the Ministry’s encouragement of specialized channels.

In turn, General Director of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) Abdul-Rahim Ahmad said that the Exhibition is an important opportunity for all media outlets to communicate with the advertising companies and thus establish partnerships.

He said that SANA is participating in the Exhibition to inform the media and advertising establishments and visitors about the services provided by SANA via its website, adding that SANA publishes around 300 news items in 8 languages each day, in addition to publishing around 300 photographs per day.
