Al Attar inaugurates National Center for Optical Arts
Vice President Najah al-Attar inaugurated on Monday the National Center for Optical Arts amid official and cultural mass attendance. On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition which included artistic works of photographing, painting and sculpturing for a group of Syrian plastic artists was opened. Dr. Attar toured pavilions of the center and listened to an explanation about the nature of work and tasks the center would fulfill to develop the plastic arts in Syria. Ghyath al-Akhras, Director of the Center said in a statement to SANA that this project is considered the first of its kind in Syria and the Middle East as it has multi-cultural activities with various sections that include halls for “Video Art”, books, artistic works, workshops and a theatre which has a capacity for 1 thousand visitor. “The terrorist war on Syria didn’t stop the work of center in the last period as the page of the optical arts center on Face Book gathers a large number of non-Syrian friends who have shown their support for the works of the center in the light of the war being waged on Syria,” Dr. al-Akhras added.
