A day of solidarity. in appreciation of the role of Syrian media during the current crisis
In appreciation of the role of Syrian media during the current crisis and the sacrifices it made, the Damascus branch of the Arab Writers Union organized on Sunday a day of solidarity.
During this event, the Union honored the families of the martyrs from al-Ikhbaryia TV channel and the directors and editors-in-chief of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Tishreen, al-Thawra, al-Baath and Baladna newspapers, and the Syrian Satellite Channel, Addouniya TV, al-Ikhbaryia channels, and the Syrian Radio and Cham FM radio.

In a speech, Chairman of the Arab Writers Union Hussein Juma'a said that Syrian media managed to reach viewers and relay its honest word through reason and righteousness, affirming that attacking Syrian media means that it is right and that it will prevail.
Participants in the event underlined the role of national media in all its forms in revealing the truth about what is happening in Syria, and that media war can be more dangerous than physical war due to its negative effects on a country's interior.
They stressed that Golf oil media has had a prevailing negative image for a long time, that is why al-Arabiya and al-Jazeera managed to captivate a large number of viewers, and this was compounded by attempts to compare what is happening in Syria to what happened in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt.
