Syria’s pavilion at 7th Baghdad Flower Festival already witnessing remarkable turnout
The Syrian pavilion at the 7th Baghdad International Flower Festival, whose activities kicked off on Thursday in Zawra Park in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, has witnessed a remarkable turnout.

The relative recovery of the Syrian economy and the Syrian government’s perpetual support to national industry have encouraged exporters to find new channels and means to promote and export their products, with exhibitions and festivals being one of those means, said Mohammad al-Sawah, Chairman of Syrian Exporters’ Federation which represents Syria to the festival.

Speaking in a statement to SANA Saturday, al-Sawah noted that the Syrian participation in Baghdad Flower Festival proves continuous activity on the part of producers and exporters against all the odds, referring to the various bad impacts of the four-year internationally-led terrorist war waged against Syria.

For his part, member of the Federation’s Agricultural Committee, Mohammad al-Shabaani, said the Syrian pavilion has attracted a remarkable number of visitors since the first day of the festival.

Al-Shabaani noted that the Syrian delegation seeks to once again win the first place at this year’s edition of the 7-day festival.

In its participation in the previous edition of the festival, that was held last April, the month when the festival is held annually, the Syrian pavilion was ranked first among pavilions of 11 countries and 70 foreign companies.

There will be an array of activities that will be organized by the Syrian delegation on the sidelines of the festival, including holding flower arrangement training workshops and floral design lectures, in addition to an event to shed light on the special Damascene rose.

The festival includes the participation of Egypt, Sudan, the US, Turkey, Italy and Germany, in addition to scores of specialized agricultural and flower companies.
