Premier Khamis stresses government’s keenness to develop cultural and artistic movement
Prime Minister Imad Khamis stressed the importance of the artistic movement in the country in terms of contributing to consolidating enlightenment thinking and confronting Takfiri mentality.

His stress came during a meeting on Saturday with a delegation of the Artists Syndicate headed by its Chief Zuheir Ramadan.

Khamis made special reference to the role which the Syrian drama has been playing, particularly during the ongoing terrorist war on the country, as the Syrian drama series have been very popular in the Arab world and have even taken the lead among Arab series over the past two decades.

Syrian drama production, he noted, has won many local, Arab and international awards, the most recent of which was the Gold Award of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Emmy Award Certificate.

Premier Khamis affirmed that integration between the Artists Syndicate and the government work is at the core of artistic process in Syria, stressing the government’s keenness to provide all forms of support and facilitations in order to improve the cultural and artistic movement in the country and overcome all obstacles standing in the way of the improvement efforts.

It was agreed during the meeting that a work group will be formed and include representatives of the Syndicate to meet with the Human Development Committee to address issues related to the regulation of the Syndicate and setting up indications and study criteria for the Syrian drama series that agree with the cultural characteristics of the Syrian society.
