463 gunmen and some of their families leave al-Waer neighborhood, Homs
A new batch of gunmen and some of their family members who rejected to join the reconciliation agreement in al-Waer neighborhood on Sunday started to leave the neighborhood in a step towards evacuating the area from arms and gunmen and paving the way for the return of governmental institutions to it.

SANA reporter in Homs said that 29 buses carrying 463 gunmen and some of their family members headed for Idleb under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent “SARC”, the internal security forces and the Russian military police according to a specific program to implement the reconciliation agreement.

Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi told SANA that the implementation of the agreement is proceeding according to the specific program and there are no obstacles, adding that the 7th batch, which includes 400 gunmen, will leave today with their families while the last batch will leave by mid-May.

He said that the electricity, water and communications workshops are continuing their work in the vicinity of al-Waer and will move into the neighborhood after the evacuation of the last batch of gunmen.

For his part, Homs Police Chief, Mag. Gen. Khaled Hilal said that units of the Internal Security Forces will be back on duty in the neighborhood once the agreement is accomplished, adding that about 1000 persons have had their legal status settled till now.

Last Monday, 260 gunmen and some of their family members left al-Waer neighborhood towards Idleb and the legal status of hundreds of persons was settled according to the amnesty decree no. 15 for the year 2016.
