260 militants leave al-Waer neighborhood in Homs
Homs governorate, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Russian military police, finished on Thursday morning the evacuation of the 9th batch of militants from al-Waer neighborhood along with a number of their families’ members who reject the reconciliation agreement.

SANA reporter said that the batch included 260 militants and 1,372 of their families who were transported onboard 41 buses from al-Waer neighborhood to Jarablous in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo province.

Homs Governor Tala al-Barazi said that the last batch of militants will leave al-Waer neighborhood on May 20 and after that all the state institution will return to the neighborhood and the rehabilitation of the infrastructure and the damaged facilities will start.

Al-Barazi indicated that the service workshops have started to work on fixing the damages in the surroundings of the neighborhood from more than 10 days.

The Governor indicated that the number of persons who want to get out of the neighborhood is decreasing after those who left the neighborhood realized that the state is the only guarantor who will preserve their dignity as three batches returned from Jarablous and Idleb to their houses in al-Waer neighborhood.

Al-Barazi added that there is an increase in the number of the displaced who are entering through the road of al-Muhandisin roundabout to inspect their homes in al-Waer neighborhood which they left from several years ago as their number has reached more than 7 thousands over the past two months.

The Governor expected that the number will double, particularly after the last batch of militants who reject the reconciliation agreement left the neighborhood.
