Syrias art and media production city, huge and long-awaited project
All are looking forward to making the first step towards the establishment of a Syria’s media and art production city. A long-awaited dream will be finally realized and contribute to further improve the quality of Syrian drama and take back its position as leader in television production industry.

Covering an area of 25,000 square meters, the city is set to be built in al-Hameh area in Damascus Countryside. It will include a small hotel, large photography, sound and audio recording studios equipped with digital equipment, multi high-definition video cameras, advanced lighting and management systems.

The main aim is to provide comprehensive and creative services for film and TV productions where private art production companies will be the key contributor to funding this project.

The announcement of reviving the project of establishing a media and art production city was made during “Our Drama is Fine” Festival recently held in Damascus.

Director Najdat Ismail Anzour said the project was under study before the crisis and re-considering the project now sets clear evidence on Syria’s restoring security and stability, noting that all concerned parties support this step.

For her part, Artist Fadia Khattab said that it is a positive step towards supporting Syrian drama and enhancing its prosperity, while Artist Mohammed Kheir al-Jarrah said the war has impeded the achievement of this dream and it is time to focus on making it true.

Other Arab artists who participated in the festival underlined the importance of such project in supporting Syrian drama and consolidating its international fame, noting that this step stresses the Syrians’ determination to live and adhere to creativity and excellence.
