Premier Khamis inspects medical work at al-Biruni University Hospital
Prime Minister, Imad Khamis, visited al-Biruni University Hospital, the largest specialized center to treat cancer in Syria which provides its diagnosis, treatment and medical services free of charge.

During the tour, Khamis approved to provide the hospital with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device, a Positron-emission tomography (PET) device and a Gamma camera within 2019 budget plan, establish a new bone-marrow transplant unit and increase the anesthesia staff working the hospital, in addition to two new ambulances.

Ministries of Health and Higher Education have been assigned with starting rehabilitation and maintenance works to restore terror-affected parts and setting up a plan to train working cadres.

Premier Khamis stressed the importance of a development plan in order to upgrade the hospital’s medical services, highlighting the government’s intense efforts to meet shortage in cancer medications due to unjust sanctions and blockade.
