Central Bank of Syria Governor Adeb Mayaleh said the bank\'s revenues of foreign currency are increasingly improving, affirming that the bank is ready to meet the market needs of foreign currency to fund basic imports.
"The bank has been successful to meet demands of currency for purposes of import with 55% of the given approvals," Mayaleh said in a statement to SANA.
He added the central bank has allowed the licensed firms to raise maximum average of USD sale from 250 to 500 per individual for non-trade purposes.
Mayaleh affirmed the Bank\'s determination to prevent any attempt from destabilizing remarkable stability in the exchange price through continuous interference in the market.
Commercial Bank gets 13 approvals of credits from Iranian Bank
For his part, Director of Commercial Bank of Syria Firas Salman affirmed that the bank has got 13 approvals of credit lines from Iranian Bank for developing Exports.
Salman told SANA the Bank has submitted 48 funding requests according to the credit facilitations line agreement signed with Iran, getting 13 approvals out of them to provide citizens with basic materials like sugar, medicines, rice and flour.
The Syrian government signed a credit facilitations line agreement with Iran last year with 1 billion USD value.
