The inhabitants of Al-Heffeh once enjoyed security and stability, and prided themselves that their city was an important touristic destination for Syrians and tourists on account of its calm nature and beautiful landscape.
However, the crimes of the armed terrorist groups soon came to turn it into a destroyed province.
The following report discloses the bulk of devastation that befell Al-Heffeha and its people.
The images of the horrible devastation left by the armed terrorist groups in Al-Heffeh and the neighboring villages reveal the ugly nature of the armed groups who kept killing citizens and destroying infrastructure, turning Al-Heffeh into a city of ghosts after its citizens were forced to leave it to escape the crimes and aggressions of the terrorists.
Devastation is now seen everywhere in Al-Heffeh province, as the armed gangs insisted on destroying public and private properties. They set fire to the national hospital, burning down the premises and its equipment.
The terrorist groups also burnt down the finance, electricity and water directorates in the region, and the civil status records and data. Cultural centers and gas stations were not spared. Doors of houses were taken off. Laundry can be still seen hanging in balconies, while houses’ contents were plundered to serve as spoils of the crimes perpetrated by the armed groups in expression of their hatred for humanity.
The armed gangs even dredged roads with bulldozers to set up barricades which they thought would protect them from the hand of justice and the law enforcement troops who are still chasing the fleeing terrorists.
However, concerned authorities have started reconstruction works to repair the devastation caused by the terrorists’ shells in order to restore security and stability to the stricken city.
