Homs Governorate discusses cooperation with ADRA
Homs governor Talal al-Barazi discussed on Monday with the regional and executive director of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Naji Khalil ways to implement the project for rehabilitating and restoring homes in Homs and its countryside and makeshift housing centers in the city.

Governor al-Barazi said that the people of the province are gradually returning to their homes in various neighborhoods and areas to which the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability, underlining the government’s efforts to secure makeshift housing centers for displaced people in parallel with the rehabilitation of infrastructure and basic services in areas where stability is restored, in addition to easing the burdens on areas that receive displaced people.

Al-Barazi pointed out the need to focus on the restoration of damaged schools, expressing appreciation of the humanitarian organizations’ support to the government’s efforts to provide all forms of assistance to affected people and to provide health, social, and humane care, as well as ensuring their return to their homes and the return of their children to schools.

In turn, Khalil said that his first visit to Homs aims at identifying the needs and discussing the possibilities of supporting the return of displaced people to their homes and rehabilitating makeshift housing centers and schools, in addition to helping injured people by providing them with prosthetics, wheelchairs, hearing aids, and more.

Khalil pointed out that the organization contributed to the implementation of humanitarian relief projects in Quneitra and Damascus Countryside provinces, and soon it will do the same in Homs.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a global humanitarian organization working in relief and development fields in more than 130 countries through cooperation with local communities, organizations, and governments in order to improve the lives of individuals.
