The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow will not support a new draft resolution at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Syria, and it will vote against it as it is similar to two previous UNGA draft resolutions and biased to one side.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website that, "Russia is concerned about the possibility of aggravating tension and confrontations in Syria," pointing out that a number of countries prepared this draft resolution and they are planning to present it for voting.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the document, just as ones proposed before, puts all the blame for the ongoing events on the Syrian government in contradiction to the clear facts.
The Ministry stressed that Russia will not support this draft and will vote against it as it completely ignores the foreign support, including military and logistic support to the opposition.
It added that the draft resolution responds to unilateral plans of some countries with the aim of changing the regime in Syria, noting that these plans ignore the regional and political effects of this scenario.
