Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stressed China's readiness to make financial contributions to the task of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in Syria.
Russia Today site quoted the Chinese Foreign Minister as saying in his speech at the UN General Assembly that China condemns any use of chemical weapons.
"China firmly condemns any use of chemical weapons. We hope to see an early adoption of a UN Security Council resolution to support the OPCW to launch its task in Syria. We stand ready to make financial contributions to the OPCW task. "
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his U.S. counterpart John Kerry, reached an understanding on a chemical weapons' draft resolution and on a draft resolution that supports the first one which did not include any indication to Chapter 7 of the UN Charter
