Hama governorate receives two ambulances granted by WHO
The governorate of Hama has received on Wednesday two ambulances presented by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Earlier, Governor of Hama Mohammad al-Hazzouri discussed with the WHO’s Resident Representative Elizabeth Hoff means to enhance cooperation between the two sides and the existing projects to improve the health, living and social services for citizens, especially those affected by the crisis.

In turn, al-Hazzouri reviewed the health and environment situation in the province and the large burden placed on the city of Hama as a result of receiving the displaced persons from the provinces of Idleb, Raqqa and Homs as well as the residents of the unstable areas in the countryside of Hama.

For his part, the Head of Hama Health Directorate Amer Sultan called on the WHO to assist in the rehabilitation and equipping of the medical center in the city of Mhardeh due to the urgent need for it after Halfaya Hospital went out of service.

Hoff, in turn, said that the WHO will study the possibility of securing the most important needs of Hama province, including the required medical and environmental, affirming the organization’s commitment to continuously support the health sector and the establishment of a medical center in Mhardeh to provide services to affected persons.
