For the children of Syria, a workshop for children under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture
Isam Khalil; Minister of Culture inaugurated the “For the children of Syria” in Damascus Citadel. The Workshop was organized through the collaboration of the Technical Center for Applied Arts, Damascus Governorate, Martyr Bassel Alassad Institute and Fayez Mansour High School. A huge painting of the Syrian Flag along with children’s paintings, sculptures, playdoh shapes and drawings of national figures were at display. A book fair for children books published by the Syrian Commission for Books accompanied the activities of the Workshop.

Talking to the press, the Minister said that when he asked the children why they painted the national figure their almost identical response was that the drawings expressed love for their families, communities and country. He said that with such enlighted and brilliant children we should not worry about terrorist threat to Syria’s future. Mr. Khalil stressed that cobatting terrorist mentality is the responsibility of all through developing children culture and mindset and this is Syria heritage since creating the world’s first alphabet here.
