The Ministry of Economy and Trade asserted, through its directorates in many governorates, that the prices have declined in the market, during the first week of the issuance of the indicative price-list. The Ministry of Economy and Trade said that a great compliance with the price list was noticed, with some irregularities here and there. The Directors of Economy and trade in the governorates expected that the indicative price list will push for more decline in the prices. The Director of Economy and Trade in Damascus, Mr Abdul Salam Ali said that the compliance with the price-list has reached an average of 70 percent in Damascus, as the irregularities, which were reported last week, have reached 25 breaches. He added that the serious follow up of the prices has achieved its goals, as the prices of some basic goods such as oil, sugar and rice, have become acceptable.
