On freedom and human rights…standing on “the wrong side of history”

By: Ayman Kakef

To be honest, I don’t want to talk about the Arab League’s resolutions from a political point of view, and not even from a patriotic point of view, we have had enough of that every one is talking about this historical precedent in silencing people and not letting the other party express opinions.

What I want to talk about is an “attractive term” that was used by the white house to describe the Russian- Chinese stand regarding the Syrian issue “Al-Assad’s supporters are on the wrong side of history”

The Americans like to play with words and phrase them in a way that move emotions and push the other party to take major calls in the other directions and maybe they can be on “the right side of history”

To tell the truth the Syrians can’t care less about the Arab states and their Leage, and they know that these leaders and the secretary of the League are in a bad situation and they can do nothing other than stay on “the right side of history” by taking orders and being humiliated and at the same time they try to act like they are decision makers, but they are bad actors, they can even act as extras.

Today the Syrian felt how important they are, every Syrian feels that he is standing his ground in this major war, as Syria’s national stations that are being carried on there satellites it horrific and needs to be silenced.

Syrians were brought together today by the AL’s resolutions that is trying to stay on “the right side of history” as those who truly aspire freedom using “dignity” as a weapon can now see how desperate the “Arab brothers” are to be attacking the media, as they were never bothered by all the sectarian haate language that is being aired from their countries! They listen to America and that sold-out the leaders who “stood on the right side of history”; think about Mubarak, Zen Al-Abedeen Bin Ali and Kaddafi, who sold his country and was killed in a terrible way

Lets take a look at history and see who used these terms:

How is Coleen Powel seen in the American history and media: a deceitful person, he used lying to justify the invasion of

How is Dr. Condoleezza Rice see?

She is seen by the media as a criminal and her colleges for marketing the invasions that were carried out by a stupid president and speeding the “creative chaos”

The Europeans are punishing the Syrian people and their media denying them their god giving right to freedom of expression, with the Hot-head president Holand telling the Russian president Poten: “everyone knows the Tyranny of Libyan president Kaddafi”; but do you know what is going down in Sert after the gun men went in? why do you not talk about this ?

Is the situation better?

How will history remember Srkozi? As being on the right side of history?

I call on all states to work with the UN to protect the free press, online, printed and broadcast and to consecrate this point.

According to Article 19 of The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

I don’t want to say that the Syrian TV speaks for 23 million people, but even if it speaks for 100,000 people, don’t they have the right to express?

The Arabs and Europeans slapped sanctions on the independent media, and their children and grand children will see this as a decrease, and history will see it as “standing on the wrong side of history”
