Scientific Olympiad embraces new generation of skilled students
New contests for the Syrian Science Olympiad for the new season witnessed a great turnout for registration at schools in the framework of search for scientific excellence and skills.

Participation in the first stage of the forthcoming competitions, scheduled on October 27-30, will be at the level of schools and will include students of the 11th grade in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry and information technology.

Chairman of the National Commission of the Syrian Science Olympiad, Imad al-Azb, clarified in a statement that the admission process of the new generation starts through scientific tests to evoke potentials within an atmosphere of competitiveness.

He added that the tests will be followed by a stage of qualification and training of various levels throughout a full season by the end of which the participants reach the level of scientific readiness which makes them eligible to go for the final contests at the country's level and later to move ahead to international scientific competitions.

This season, students of the old generation who passed the 13th grade and moved to the university stage will participate in the admission process through putting their experiences and acquired knowledge at the disposal of the new students.
