Shabab Link 2 initiative for providing job opportunities and training launched
With the participation of 44 bodies, civil societies, volunteer teams, companies, and microfinance establishments, the Shabab Link 2 initiative was launched on Tuesday at the Damascus University conference hall.

The two-day event, launched by Sanad development team in cooperation with the Syria Trust for Development, seeks to provide job opportunities, training, volunteer work, and skill-development services for youth.

Media and Communication Director at the Syria Trust for Development Bashar al-Qatrib said this initiative is part of the Trust’s efforts to support volunteer work, empower local communities, and motivate youths, calling for supporting similar activities to help youths pursue suitable careers.

In turn, Sanad team coordinator Muayad Hijazi said that participants in the event will propose direct job opportunities for youths as well as training and volunteer work opportunities, in addition to providing consultation meetings, all in order to help meet the needs of youths and introduce them into the job market.

A number of the participating sides said such events provide suitable avenues for meeting job applicants directly and connect with them, stressing the need to hold more similar activities.

The initiative’s activites include lectures on insurance companies, filmmaking, and writing CVs and preparing for job interviews.

Sanad development team consists of 19 volunteers who have been organizing events since April 2013.

The Syria Trust for Development is a non-profit NGO that seeks to empower and motivate individuals and communities in Syria, in addition to connecting with and supporting social initiatives and civil societies.
