Asma Saeb Afandi ... A Syrian Pretty Moved from the World of Business, Media, to Art

Ms. Afandi : I am proud as a Syrian to convey the Palestinian message for the first time through a Turkish TV series.
In a new step to be a star, Ms. Asma Saeb Afandi; a Syrian pretty who used to live in Turkey since birth with a Turkish nationality, entered the world of drama through the role she played in a Turkish TV series (Seven Beautiful Poets).
Asma started her career in the world of business making benefit of her glamorous beauty, strong character and high education she got to enter the world of media as a TV presenter on the Turkish TV. Now, she has accessed the world of Art.

Asma played the role of an architecture, educated mother with two kids, who is trying to explain to the Turkish people the tragedy which the Palestinians living under the Israeli occupation, attempting to remind them that separation is the beginning of the collapse of nations.
Concerning the work and the message conveyed through her participation in this historical piece of art, Ms. Amsa declared to Syriandays: "(Seven Beautiful Poets) is a historical series which talks about the Republic of Turkey between late 1950s and early 1970s. It reviews the political events and the sectarian conflicts at that time where the country suffered from social division between the nationalists, leftists and conservatives. It reviews the lives of seven poets lived in Mrash. She added: "The city of Mrash, which is located at the eastern part of Turkey, was the home of seven poets each joined a different political party. There are also events taking place related to Palestian. About the message of the series, Asma said: "The series discusses the social divisions caused by the variations between the rightist, leftist and secularist which were outcomes of the political events".
About the role she played in the series, Ms Asma said: "I am a wife of a Palestinian martyr who fled from the war to Mrash and resorted to the family of a poet". She said she was proud as a Syrian citizen to convey the Palestinian message for the first time in a Turkish TV series.
Ms. Asma said that thanks go to Mr. Ahmet Tezcan; author of the work who introduced the Palestinan case in the series through the character of Mariam.


Reconciliation and Harmony in Syria:
Ms. Asma said about Mariam; the character she played in the series and the message she conveyed: "Mariam is a strong character which is very close to mine in my real life. I tried to explain the process of reconciliation and harmony between all people in Syria. Mariam came to Turkey and explained to the Turkish people how Muslims and Christians lived in Palestine as brothers. The Turkish people welcomed her with great humanitarian interest and care.
