The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the US support for terrorist groups is the main obstacle to full eradication of the ISIS terrorist organization in Syria.

“The main obstacle to the complete elimination of ISIS in Syria is not the military capabilities of terrorists, but rather the support of the Americans, ” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Wednesday.

Konashenkov noted that the ISIS terrorists’ recent attacks against Syrian military sites in the depth of the Syrian Badiyeh started from al-Tanf area on the Syrian-Jordanian borders, adding that on September
28th, about 300 ISIS terrorists left al-Rukban city moving in the direction of al-Qaryateen area in Homs province and attempted to take control over a number of strategic hills around the town.

On the same day, another ISIS group conducted a number of attacks against the Syrian forces along the strategic road connecting Palmyra and Deir Ezzor after having precise coordinates of the Syrian forces’
positions that can only be obtained through aerial reconnaissance, he added.

The Russian military officer concluded that the victories and achievements made by the Syrian army, backed by Russian Air Force, in quick liberation of al-Euphrates Valley seem to contradict the US
