The People’s Assembly discussed a session on Sunday chaired by Speaker Hammoudeh Sabbagh the performance of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

The members of the Assembly asserted the importance of solving the problem of housing and building youth housing projects.

They also called for facilitating the procedures for the real estate investment and construction companies, pointing out that issuing zoning plans must be done as fast as possible.

Housing and Public Works Minister Hussein Arnous reviewed the Ministry’s projects and plans in the construction sector as part of the reconstruction stage, revealing that projects valued at SYP 141 billion have been implanted in various provinces during the crisis, focusing on vital and urgent sectors.

Arnous added that in 2017, the Ministry completed and turned over 6,055 apartments, and plans to finish and turn over 7,200 in 2018, followed by 7,300 in 2019, and 9,000 in 2020.
