Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi reiterated his country's position of supporting political and peaceful methods for resolving the crisis in Syria, voicing hope that the countries of the region will exert efforts to resolve the crisis and prevent it from spreading.
Receiving the credentials of Lebanon's new ambassador to Iran Fadi al-Haj Ali on Saturday, Salehi stressed that Iran rejects strongly foreign interference in Syria's internal affairs and opposes the supporting of armed terrorist groups which escalates violence.
He said that only the Syrian people can decide their political future and the fate of their country within the framework of national interests and realizing just demands.
