Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said attempts to spread chaos in Syria following the Iraqi and Libyan style have hit the buffers and had been “prevented.”
“Russia has impressions that some parties are seeking to spread chaos in Syria like what happened in Iraq and Libya. They were prevented,” Media outlets quoted Lavrov as saying to journalists following a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei in Minsk on Tuesday.
Lavrov said on Monday that terrorist organizations are still operative in the areas where US forces are stationed in al-Tanf and al-Rukban camp in the Syrian Badia (Desert).
Reports indicate that US forces which maintain an illegal presence in al-Tanf and al-Rukban Camp continue to train Daesh (ISIS) remnants in an attempt to revive the terrorist organization.
