Citizens of Quneitra and the occupied Syrian Golan reiterated on Thursday their rejection and non-recognition of the unilateral Zionist entity’s decision to annex the Golan to Israeli occupation in 1981.
On the 36th anniversary of the evil decision, the Syrian citizens affirmed their determination to continue resistance until liberating the territory from the Zionist occupation and defeating and expelling terrorism from all Syrian territories.
They said in a statement that 36 years have passed since the decision of the Zionist Knesset to annex the Golan to the Israeli artificial entity, adding that this decision was null and void.
“Today, after 50 years of occupation and 36 years of annexation, we affirm our adherence and loyalty to our Syrian Arab identity,” they added.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Ba’ath Arab Socialist Party’s branch in Quneitra Khaled Abaza hailed the heroic roles and the sacrifices of the Syrian people in the occupied villages of Golan, condemning the role of the Israeli entity in directly supporting armed terrorist groups in the area.
The Israeli occupation authorities issued illegal decision to annex the occupied Syrian Golan on December 14, 1981. The move was rejected by the international community, considering it as a violation of all international laws.
The United Nations Security Council passed a resolution no. 497 on December 17, 1981, in which it considered that imposing Israeli laws, jurisdiction and administration on the occupied Syrian Golan are “null and void” and have no international legal effect.
