Activities of “Get ready to join school” project kick off in Homs
Ministry of Education launched on Thursday activities of “Get ready to join school” project to implement the early childhood education initiative, targeting 10,000 children of the third grade at the age of five years in Homs.

During a visit to a number of schools that implemented the project, Minister of Education Hazwan Al-Waz, accompanied by Governor of Homs Talal Al-Barazi and deputy representative of UNICEF in Syria Alessandra Dentice inspected the situation the proper educational environment to make the project a success.

The minister said that the project aims at realizing the fourth goal of sustainable development that stipulates securing equal opportunities for development and caring about the kindergarten stage.
Governor of Homs noted that the children were received at this stage at 23 schools after being prepared in cooperation between the Ministry of Education and UNICEF.

For her part, the UNICEF representative described the project as “distinguished,” saying it is very important to apply the experiment in other Syrian cities.
“The project is applied through a genuine partnership between UNICEF and the Syrian government.
