Director General of customs, Majdi Hakamiyeh said that his directorate has accomplished since the beginning of the year, a series of measures that are within the framework of facilitating the work, asserting the principle of transparency and decreasing smuggling and corruption. The Director General referred to the revision of the customs duties in the tariffs' items, which have been reduced from 13 to five items, in a step, that would have positive effect, by increasing the revenue of the treasury.
Mr. Hakamiyeh added that the administration has issued operational instructions of the custom's law No.38 for the year 2006, concerning the industrial warehouse and a decision that allows an inspection outside the Customs premises, for the imports of the owners of industrial facilities, in addition to other measures and decisions, which would raise the level of income.
