Patriarch Yazigi calls for amity and optimism to reconstruct Homs
Patriarch John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East called on all people of Homs to embrace patience and optimism and amity to be one hand for reconstructing what has been damaged, expressing confidence that the efforts exerted by the state will let everyone come back to their houses and neighborhoods.

Visiting Homs city, Patriarch Yazigi pointed out that his visit is aimed at inspecting the situation of the city and encouraging its people to come back, in addition to blessing the efforts exerted for reconciliation.

The patriarch visited the neighborhoods of the old city of Homs and performed prayers at al-Arbaeen, St. Ilyan al-Homsi Monatery, Um al-Zennarm Lady of Peace, the Orthodox Roman Patriarchate, St. Girigis, the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate and St Maron churches. 

During a meeting with Homs Governor, Talal al-Barazi, Patriarch Yazigi pointed out the great role and efforts exerted by the governorate within the framework of settlements and reconciliations.

Al-Barazi pointed out the importance of this visit which supports the national reconciliation, tolerance and amity.
